The Department of Zoology, Panskura Banamali College, recently organized a comprehensive Skill Training Programme on Sericulture and Apiculture, aimed at enhancing practical knowledge and promoting self-employment opportunities among students. The training programme was meticulously designed to provide both theoretical insights and hands-on experience in the fields of silk and honey production. Expert resource persons, including faculty members and industry professionals, delivered engaging sessions covering the biology, life cycle, and management techniques of silkworms and honey bees. Participants were given the opportunity to observe and participate in the rearing process, disease management, and harvesting methods, which greatly enriched their understanding of these economically significant biological practices. The training not only deepened our academic knowledge but also highlighted the commercial potential of sericulture and apiculture as sustainable livelihood options.
