About the Department: 

This department came into existence in 2005.

The Santali Department is an academic department that focuses on the study and promotion of the Santali language, literature, and culture.

Courses:

 (i) B.A Honours in Santali (CBCS Semester System)

B.A. Santali Honours Semester System(CBCS) Course in Santali will Comprise six semesters, first year will be 1st and 2nd semester, second year will be 3rd and 4th semester and final year will be 5th & 6th semester.

 (ii) 4 Year Under Graduate in Santali as per NEP 2020 with effect from 2023.

(iii) Ph. D.

Eligibility: As per UGC guideline & Government rules.

1. It is a new Subject or new service gaining.
2. Though this Santali Subject candidates may apply State level Service Commission.
3. Examinations. Such as- W.B.C.S.C, W.B.P.S.C, & etc.
4. Through this Santali Subject Candidates also may apply in National level Service Commission Examinations. Such as- U.P.S.C (I.A.S.,/I.F.S./I.P.S./I.R.S./etc.)
5. After Completion of B.A. in Santali Candidates may able to appear Higher study.
6. Qualified Candidate may apply any services within Govt. of India, State Govt., Semi Govt. & others private jobs.
7. Santali Subject has an oldest language quality to learn in many ways.
8. U.G qualified candidate may able to teach the Santali Subject other people in formal non formal education policies.
9. After completion of U.G. study and additional training in Santali Candidates may eligible to teaching Services.
10. Santali qualified person may be the Santali Subject Expert and Subject resource person.
